About
The most popular bagpipe band around
Formed in 2002, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers offer a unique fusion of traditional Scottish bagpipe music with drums, keyboards, guitars and pop anthems. The group is comprised of some of the best musicians from Scotland and beyond – many of whom hold world championship titles in piping or drumming, among other distinctions.
Dubbed “bagrock”, their infectious style of feel-good music appeals to all ages and cultures. Among their most popular covers have been Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars, Queen’s We Will Rock You and Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers have been on the rise since making an unforgettable cameo with The Darkness at 2004’s T In The Park and also winning the 2007 series of BBC’s talent show When Will I Be Famous?
Although their 2005 self-titled debut album was moderately successful, their next two releases – 2007’s Bagrock To The Masses and 2008’s Blast Live – were certified platinum and triple platinum, respectively, in Scotland.
Between 2010 and 2019, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers released six more albums and sold out tours around the world – from Spain and France to New Zealand, Saudi Arabia and the Ukraine. In 2014, they returned to T In The Park, but this time opened the main stage. Also that year the group were heard on the soundtrack for the animated film How To Train Your Dragon 2.
Today, the Red Hot Chilli Pipers boast being “the most famous bagpipe band on the planet”. Not only have they made appearances at prestigious national events like BBC Proms In The Park, the Commonwealth Games and Rugby World Cup, but they can count Her Majesty The Queen, Sir Paul McCartney, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L Jackson and many others among their avid fans.
