About

Comedy powerhouse, television panel star and ‘PudCaster’

Renowned as the most successful British Indian stand-up comedian in British history, Paul Chowdhry’s career is marked by numerous accolades and groundbreaking achievements.

In a remarkable feat, Paul completed his Family-Friendly Comedian nationwide UK tour from 2021 to 2023, which saw three extensions due to overwhelming demand. This tour garnered widespread praise, culminating in a sold-out run at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2023, where it earned rave reviews and ratings ranging from 4 to 5 stars.

This follows Live Innit, a record-breaking tour that saw Paul perform five nights at the Hammersmith Apollo and become the first British-Asian stand-up to sell out London's Wembley Arena. Paul’s talent has earned him prestigious awards, including “Best Live Event” at the ITV Asian Media Awards, “Comedian of the Year” at the Asian Voice Awards, and the esteemed “Eastern Eye Comedian of the Year” award. Described by The Eastern Eye as “the greatest British Asian comedian of all time,” Paul’s impact on the comedy scene is undeniable.

Beyond stand-up, Paul shines as an actor and has starred in the international series Devils as well as countless TV shows such as Stand Up for the Week, Live at the Apollo and the multi-award nominated show Taskmaster. Paul also hosts his own podcast The Paul Chowdhry PudCast, interviewing celebrities on life’s turning points with guests including Russell Howard, London Hughes and Stewart Lee.

Paul’s influence extends online and he maintains a vibrant social media presence with his videos amassing millions of views. With his boundless talent and undeniable charisma, Paul Chowdhry continues to captivate audiences worldwide, leaving an indelible mark on the world of comedy.

Speaking on his latest UK tour titled 'Englandia', Paul said: “After more than a quarter of a century and half my life on comedy stages, it's time to embark on my biggest tour ever. I hope to see you there—the audiences who made this dream possible. If not, I'll be in massive debt and doing benefit gigs for the foreseeable future.”

I don't remember the last time I laughed so much. Perfect from beginning to end! It was my first time seeing Paul and I was not disappointed. He is extremely talented, I didn't want the show to end.

  • Entertaining

by Jimmy on 25/05/2025O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 4 out of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. he could have dealt with the hecklers more effectively without using vile language, he has the skill set to do this. Ticketmaster you are making it extremely difficult for me to enter the venue as a non mobile owner, postal tickets is more acceptable to me.

  • Worst meet and greet but great show

by Zash on 25/05/2025O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 3 out of 5

Meet and greet wasn't great as we were not allowed to stand near Paul Chowdhry and had to stand a row in-front of him to get our photo which felt and looked awkward. Literally spoke 2 words and it just felt rushed and we paid a-lot of money for the meet and greet however the show itself was phenomenal.

  • Unnecessary change of seat

by Ali G on 25/05/2025O2 City Hall Newcastle - Newcastle Upon TyneRating: 3 out of 5

My seat was changed from one side of the hall to the other, as I am deaf in my right ear this caused problems hearing the comedian. I noticed that there were no issues with my original seat so asked to move, this was much better as I could hear his comments much clearer. I saw Paul several years ago and found him much funnier then, he seemed to concentrate too much on audience participation from the front two rows and as they weren't forthcoming the show was limited with content!
