Hosted in a purpose build outdoor arena, in the grounds of the magnificent Old Royal Naval College, overlooking the River Thames. The centrepiece of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site, the classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College were designed by England’s greatest architects and are considered amongst the finest in Europe. Featuring the sumptuous Painted Hall and the neo-classical Chapel, the site has seen a variety of uses, as Greenwich Palace, the Royal Naval Hospital of Seamen and then the Royal Naval College. The classical buildings that make up the Old Royal Naval College today - including the iconic twin domes - were built for purpose as the Royal Hospital for Seamen, and date back to the 17th century. Designed by England's most famous architect, Sir Christopher Wren, the buildings were built to house naval pensioners, retired veterans of Britain's navy.
