About

After her initial success with a cover of Shout in 1964, Lulu went on to establish herself as one of the best-selling British female singers of the 1960s. She made her film debut in To Sir, with Love (1967), starring Sidney Poitier, and performed the title song, which went to No.1 in the US.

She was one of four joint winners of the 1968 Eurovision Song Contest with Boom Bang-a-Bang and later found success with her own self-titled BBC show. In 1974, she sang the title theme to the James Bond feature The Man with the Golden Gun.

In more recent years, she featured on the Take That hit Relight My Fire and has released an album of duets entitled Together. She recently appeared as a guest judge on BBC talent show Let It Shine, alongside long-time friend and collaborator Gary Barlow.

Lulu still has plenty to shout about as she embarks on another mammoth tour of the UK in 2019. If you haven’t seen Lulu live, then don’t miss this special opportunity as she recounts her remarkable life now at 70 years old and a career that has outshone many of her contemporaries.

Entitled Still on Fire, the show will be packed full of hits, in which Lulu takes you on a personal journey through her music. Supported by a four-piece band, with an LED screen showing family and career defining moments, she'll have you sitting, standing, dancing, singing, laughing and simply listening to her amazing story.

Lulu was absolutely fantastic and I am so glad that I finally got to see her before she gives up touring. Would not believe she is anywhere near 76!! Still trendy, relevant and sure knows how to put a show together.

A great journey through her incredible 60 years in the business. Brilliant format with use of video at times with Lulu singing along interspersed with wee stories of her collaborations. Great band and her sister Eddie was brilliant too. A great show. A wee 76 year old power house. Loved it. Peter Donnigan was very good too.

Although we were in the upper circle we could not make out what Lulu was saying and when she sang it just sounded like a noise. Really disappointed and left at the interval. Not sure if it was the venue or the sound system but we have never experienced this before.

  • Lulu Final Tour Review

by GazSleigh on 10/11/2024Liverpool Empire Theatre - LiverpoolRating: 5 out of 5

She did a fantastic job, she told a story, linked with important events that mean something to her and her development. And shown video's from "yesteryear"and sung along with them. It gave a greater perspective to her and her life and career. And shown her class and talent and professionalism throughout It also showed her fitness and compassion for her work. And the announcement that it was her final tour which is a shame but understandable. The show was an example of a true professional as opposed to modern day pretenders. The staff in the theatre also shown helpfulness and support for the clientele and were very pleasant and it made the night an absolute pleasure and one to remember. And the support act was good and from Liverpool at a theatre in Liverpool and he mentioned Liverpool FC playing that night they won so complimented the whole night, topped by Lulu.
