Join me on my Diamond Jubilee lap of honour as I celebrate 60 glorious years of fun, laughter and low-level disruption!
Marvel! As I offer new insights into the hot topics of the day such as the demise of the SCART lead, The Culture Wars, the differences between crab sticks and rhubarb and the origins of Tirimisu.
Guffaw with delight! As I delve into my back catalogue using my patented ‘Old Bit Randomiser’ for old favourites like ‘Interspecies Tennis’, ‘The time I went up in the Space Shuttle' and ‘When Nan got her hair caught in the knitting’.
Cough Awkwardly! As Gary, (my son from my first marriage) attempts to take over the business again.
Tap your Feet! As Stouffer The Cat spits a little Steflon Don!
Watch in Wonder! at the return of The Badger Parade with guest appearances from The Knitted Character and Abu Hamster
Plus, one lucky audience member will get to join me in a double act…
SO, GET ON BOARD THE LAUGHTER TRAIN!
Though today the only tonic Harry Hill prescribes is a healthy dose of laughter, the comedian originally trained to be a doctor, graduating from the University of London in 1988 and landing a position at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. But not feeling it was the right calling, at 25 Hill quit the profession and began making a name for himself as a stand-up.
In 1992 caught enough attention at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival – a rite of passage for any aspiring British performer – to win Best Newcomer in the Perrier awards (now the Dave's Edinburgh Comedy Awards). Soon after Harry Hill’s Fruit Corner was commissioned on BBC Radio 4, a surrealist comedy built upon a fictional family that included Al Murray, Phill Jupitus and the late Matt Bradstock-Smith.
With clear charisma and an expressive form of comedy that suited the screen, Hill made his television debut in 1994 with the sketch show Fruit Fancies, and the rest was history. In 1997 Fruit Corner made its way to screens as his eponymous show, which saw the first appearance of the blue rubber puppet Stouffer the Cat.
The new millennium saw the dawn of Harry Hill’s TV Burp on ITV, which would go on to garner multiple BAFTAs for its surreal and side-splitting take on TV clips, stitched together with characters such as an Alan Sugar doll, Heather and The Knitted Character. The show was a family hit, and given his friendly, cheeky and nonsensical style it was no surprise Hill was popular with children; in 2005 the comic released a sketch show just for kids, Harry Hill’s Shark Infested Custard.
It was only a matter of time before Hill made it to the big screen, and in 2013 released his first ever feature film – yes, you guessed it – The Harry Hill Movie, which saw him hit the road to Blackpool with his grandmother, played by Julia Walters. The film also featured Matt Lucas, Sheridan Smith and Johnny Vegas.
Easy to book process, great seats and a fantastic evening of whacky Harry Hill comedy!
Just as I expected - extremely funny with lots of wordplay, well crafted jokes and audience participation. Even got a handshake from the great man during the badger parade finale! Excellent night all round!
Harry Hill was brilliant The show was so much fun and bonkers
I laughed all the way through Harry's performance. Great show and the inflatable sausage he released at the end was hysterical! Very enjoyable evening indeed.
If you've watched him on TV, the live show will not disappoint. Surreal, madcap, new, improved AND old fashioned…a breathless romp through Harry's peculiar world!
Non-stop laughs with favourite characters and deceptively clever, but silly, humour. Harry is a master of physical comedy and just makes you laugh by looking at him - highly recommended for a fun time!!
Really good, very funny and no complaints, well except I really wanted a program but they were cash only and I only had my phone with Apple Pay.
Harry Hill is a comic genius and doesn't disappoint. A very entertaining show and I would love to see him again. His madcap silly humour is a pure joy.
Have seen Harry a few times over the years but I think this was his best show, we laughed all the way through, mad and hilarious.
An evening of sheer tomfoolery and utter hilarity. Harry had us in stitches from the word go. Fantastic entertainment and completely barmy!
